Speed Hump Request Day is Coming Up!

Getting a speed hump request slot is almost as good as scoring some coveted Coachella tickets. There are a limited number of slots, and they only become available twice a year, so if you want humps on your block, you must be ready to submit your request entry at exactly 8 am on Wednesday, January 29 to secure a spot in the evaluation process. This is because there is a very limited number of spots that the City makes available so it’s first come, first served.

What to expect

It's a good idea to read up in advance so that you know what you're signing up for. If you score a slot, you then need to get 2/3 of the neighbors on your block to sign your petition within a fairly short timeframe. Then the City reviews the request, and you just might end up with some brand new humps. As with everything, persistence pays off so if your request is denied once there's really no reason not to keep at it if your block is in need of some speed control.
