Security Patrol Program

We have partnered with Nastec, Inc., a global security firm leader to provide best-in-class patrol services in our area. Beverly Hills contracts with Nastec to supplement its own police force. Our Nastec officers are trained to protect our neighborhood against crime and to address nuisances.

Armed officers patrol from 6 pm to 6 am every day, with two cars in the neighborhood overnight. When more than one officer is on duty, each patrols a specific area to ensure rapid response to participants.

Participate in private security patrol for just $100/month.

BENEFITS

  • Call or text to quickly summon armed patrol officers

  • Patrol cars never leave the area so our officers will be on the scene before LAPD or alarm companies can get there

  • Officers can conduct vacation checks and door escorts

COST

The cost is $300 per quarter ($100 per month) which covers DSPNA’s patrol program expenses. As a volunteer-administered program, we must minimize administrative time, therefore DSPNA charges participants’ credit cards at the beginning of each three-month period following the initial payment.

Prior to making your first payment, you must agree to the Terms of Service.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Within 24 hours, you will receive a welcome email which includes the private patrol service phone number. Please do not share this number with neighbors not participating in patrol.

  • Officers will deliver a yard sign, and you can request stickers, magnets and business cards with the patrol phone number.

  • If you do not receive the welcome email, please email [email protected].

ALARM RESPONSE

Direct your current alarm monitoring company to notify our patrol service when your alarm goes off DURING COVERAGE HOURS.

  • Increased crime and nuisances (party houses, illegal parking, bonfires) threaten the security and serenity of our neighborhood

  • A robust patrol service enhances our neighborhood's desirability

Common Questions

Why do I need this?

  • LAPD staffing is at historically low levels.  This means that police patrol cars are deployed to high-crime zones and response times may be higher. Response times for non-emergency issues may be extremely long.

  • Our patrol can also handle nuisance issues such as party house problems, illegal parking and loitering in our area.

But I already pay for the patrol service provided by my alarm company.  Isn’t this just more of the same?

  • It’s not at all the same.  During patrol hours, our officers constantly circulate in the neighborhood. This means that our response times will be far quicker.

  • Because they circulate in our neighborhood, our patrol is highly visible and deters crime. The higher our subscriber base, the more of this we can provide.

Can DSPNA patrol respond when my burglar alarm goes off?

  • You can direct your alarm company to call our patrol service during patrol hours. Our officers will then handle the call, arriving more quickly and offering a significant savings versus a police response.

Do I need to be a member of DSPNA to participate in this service?

  • Membership is encouraged but not required.

Does participation in this service make me a member of DSPNA?

  • No.  Membership is separate.  Please join to support our work on behalf of the neighborhood.

Is this a good value?

  • This is less expensive than many of the other neighborhood patrol programs, which can cost $300/month and more.
