The Importance of immediately reporting issues in our neighborhood

Gridlock on Doheny Drive

On Wednesday, September 18, traffic on Doheny Drive came to a complete standstill. It was miserable for many, and we heard reports of people being stuck for half an hour. Matt, our Construction Monitor, investigated and let us know that the culprit was multiple sites getting deliveries at the same time, and some were blocking the road without having flaggers out to help with traffic. One of the sites has a habit of doing this and isn't particularly responsive to requests to be more considerate.

The DSPNA wrote a strongly worded letter to Street Services, the department responsible for keeping the roads clear. They will investigate but one thing they said needs to be shared with everyone: in order for issues to get kicked up the chain of command, they need to be reported through proper channels. Our investigator requested that we file a MY311LA service request.

How to FILE A COMPLAINT

Filing such a request is incredibly simple and there are three ways to do so:

1) Download the MyLA 311 app

2) Use the MyLA 311 Website

3) Dial 311 on your phone

Blockages are reported under "obstructions" which are in turn under "investigations." If you forget, there's always the "other" option or use the phone - the person answering will know how to appropriately classify your request. Once your report, if you can please send your request confirmation or request # to [email protected] or just let us know what your reported and when.

Please report when things are amiss. It's important not only for getting single problems fixed but also for creating a record with the city regarding the problems we face.
